Elliot Lake Improving Safety of Pine and Poplar Roads

The City of Elliot Lake is investing CCBF funding in a major road rehabilitation project that will prevent flooding and increase safety.

Pine Road and Poplar Road in the city will benefit from new underground waste water infrastructure and new surfacing once the work is completed later in 2021.

The new road surface and storm systems will allow water to be successfully directed to catch basins, removing much of the risk of flooding for nearby homes and yards.

By reducing the likelihood of puddling on the road surface, the work will also have a positive effect on ice buildup in the winter – making the area safer for drivers.
