Lambton’s Rehabilitation Of Townsend Line

The County of Lambton invested support from the Canada Community-Building Fund in the rehabilitation of County Road 12.

Around 3.5 km of the road, known as Townsend Line, has been resurfaced using a process called Full Depth Reclamation.

This process involves pulverizing the existing surface and some of the underlying material and blending it to create a stronger material.

A new asphalt layer is added to complete the surface. The County also widened the surface to accommodate partially paved shoulders.

Other work carried out as part of the project included drainage improvements and culvert replacements.

Safety on the road has been increased as a result, with the risk of flooding also being lowered.
