More than $1.2 billion in federal Gas Tax funds distributed

It’s construction season – and the federal Gas Tax Fund is helping municipalities move forward on hundreds of local infrastructure projects. Today the Government of Canada announced the release of more than $1.2 billion in federal Gas Tax funding for communities across Ontario. AMO has delivered these funds to your local government and work is already underway.

Federal Gas Tax funds released to date include the first of two $408.3 million installments to be distributed in 2019 – along with an $819.4 million top-up announced in Budget 2019. This top-up doubles the amount of federal Gas Tax funding that Ontario’s communities will receive in 2019 and delivers much needed support for local infrastructure.
