New Billboards Provide Tourism Boost For Wawa

The Municipality of Wawa invested Canada Community-Building funds in updating signage to attract more tourists to the area.

Eight old, faded tourism billboards on highways leading to Wawa were replaced with improved and updated signs.

Designed to provide a better overall image of the community, the signs promote Wawa as a must-visit tourist destination.

Increased tourism numbers will benefit the local community including hotels, restaurants and gift stores.

Wawa’s Highway Tourism Signage Update Project was identified as important to the tourism success of the Municipality in its Community Strategic Plan.
