Powassan’s Road Resurfacing Project

The Municipality of Powassan resurfaced more than 3 km of badly deteriorated roadway with support from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

Spetz Avenue and Bridge Street in Powassan were dug up and repaved, and Sweezey Street, Corkery Street, Barrett Street and part of McCarthy Street in Trout Creek were also resurfaced.

All of the road surfaces were described as “very rough” with multiple potholes and broken edges.

The municipality’s Asset Management-Road Needs Study helped identify where work was most urgently required.

Since the work was completed, drivers are safer on the roads.
