February 05, 2021

The historic King George VI Lift Bridge in Port Stanley is undergoing rehabilitation with support from the federal Gas Tax Fund.

The Municipality of Central Elgin is carrying out the work on the recommendations of a 2019 detailed assessment.

Constructed over Kettle Creek in 1938, the bridge was most recently repaired in 2007.

The current rehabilitation project is expected to be completed in 2021.
