Work Underway at Elgin’s Historic King George Bridge

The historic King George VI Lift Bridge in Port Stanley is undergoing rehabilitation with support from the Canada Community-Building Fund.

The Municipality of Central Elgin is carrying out the work on the recommendations of a 2019 detailed assessment.

Constructed over Kettle Creek in 1938, the bridge was most recently repaired in 2007.

The current rehabilitation project is expected to be completed in 2021.
