CCBF Helps Make Collingwood More Energy Efficient

The Town of Collingwood is getting efficient with the transition to LED lights at Town-owned facilities.

The Town retrofitted 12 municipal properties, including the arenas, Town Hall and various operations buildings. Two more buildings are scheduled for later this year. The upgrades have significantly improved the lighting levels and will enhance the Community’s experience by improving visibility and safety.

This initiative has involved on-site lighting audits, photometric designs, state-of-the-art LED lighting and control products, installation by local contractors. It's funded in-part by the CCBF.

It is estimated that with the facilities already completed this year and the two remaining facilities, that the Town will save 369,833 KWh/year of electricity and $82,173.41 per year in utility and maintenance costs.
