Flooded Roadways Rehabilitated in Sioux Narrows-Nester Falls

Investments from the Canada Community-Building Fund helped the Township of Sioux Narrows-Nester Falls deal with an emergency situation in 2022.

Unprecedented flooding this past spring caused extensive damage to many of the municipality’s roads. Five different roadways were affected by the flooding and required immediate remediation.

Sioux Narrows-Nester Falls invested the CCBF into rehabilitation of 0.10 km of Lobstick Bay Road, White Moose Road, Dubois Road and Haas Road, which included culvert replacement and remediation of areas that were washed out. Additionally, the municipality added several culverts along 0.60 km of Lakeview Terrace Road.

The Canada Community-Building Fund provides permanent, stable funding to help municipalities invest in priority projects. Sioux Narrows-Nester Falls’ investment in road improvements ensures critical infrastructure remains operational for residents.
