Rehabilitation of Sandhill Court Mitigates Drainage Issues

Investments from the CCBF allowed the Town of Shelburne to complete a roads improvement project in the residential neighbourhood of Sandhill Court.

Shelburne invested more than $742,000 from the CCBF to update storm sewer and watermain underneath Sandhill Court and resurface the street between 2022 and 2023.

Sandhill Court has required ongoing maintenance issues since original construction of the street. Issues have included heaving of the sewers, insufficient drainage that leads to pooling of run-off water, and excess ice formation along the curbs during winter. This caused the Town to budget annually for ongoing and costly repairs.

With investments from the CCBF, the Town completely overhauled the street to improve the quality of the infrastructure and enhance the overall livability of the area.
